Hello everyone! I cannot wait to show you what I’ve created with the new Whimsical Wonder release from Altenew today – this release really sang to me, and was a joy to create with – I just know you’re going to love it! My post today is part of a blog hop that starts over at Altenew’s blog, and you should have landed here from Carol’s blog. Go refill your coffee/tea/drink of choice and then pop back for my cards, and the next stop the hop can be found at the end this post!

My first post today features the stunning Meadow Bush Layering Stencil. This is such a fun stencil, and it has a coordinating die that cuts around your stenciled creation. I inked up the layers of the stencil using Aqualicious on the leaves, and the Shades. of Purple inks. I lighted up the flowers using one of the layers a white pigment ink. I also added some white gel pen for highlights. I then die cut it out and set aside.

For my base panel, I used navy cardstock trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″, and dry embossed it with the new Enchanting Vines 3D embossing folder. This folder creates such gorgeous three dimensional texture! I mounted the Meadow Bush on the panel, and then adhered the panel to a white note card. I stamped the sentiment from the Bouquet of Love stamp set in Obsidian Pigment ink and mounted it with foam tape. I finished with a few pale blue crystals for a sumptuous sparkle!

My next card uses the new 6×6 Poured Acrylic patterned paper released (yey finally more patterned paper – I love it and totally hoard it!). This paper is sturdy and perfect for heat embossing on. I stamped the two outline images from the new Scalloped Ornaments stamp set onto a panel of the patterned paper in embossing ink, and then heat embossed in Antique Gold embossing powder.

I die cut out the shapes using the coordinating dies, and again from a panel of 110lb white cardstock and adhered them together to add additional sturdiness. I then mounted the shapes onto a white note card trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″. Don’t they look amazing with that acrylic pour peeping through? And yet so simple.

I stamped the ‘Stay Amazing’ sentiment in Obsidian Pigment ink, and then adhered the panel with fun foam to a white notecard. I added a few Antique Gold sequins to finish.

My final two cards feature the gorgeous Fold Art stamp set. I think this might have been one of my favorites stamp sets in the release. To create my first card, I first ink smushed a panel of watercolor cardstock. I pushed my inks into a piece of acrylic packaging, spritzed with water, then smushed onto the watercolor cardstock. I used Ultramarine, Lavender Fields, and Magenta. I dried the panel then repeated several more times.

When my panel was dry, I stamped the Folk Art stamp over the top in embossing ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold embossing powder, then trimmed it out with the coordinating die. I mounted the die cuts onto a panel of Jet Black cardstock spritzed with Antique Silver Metallic spray using blue fun foam that I die cut using the same coordinating die.

I love the sentiments in this set, and heat embossed my favorite one in Antique Gold on Jet Black cardstock, trimmed it out and mounted on top. To finish I added iridescent Nuvo Glitter Drops in a few places for more sparkle.

My final card features the Folk Art stamp set again (told you I loved it!). This time I decided to color it with Alcohol Markers. I stamped it with Permanent Black ink and then colored it with purples, pinks and aquas. I also added some gold gel pen. I then die cut it out and adhered it to a navy panel dry embossed with those gorgeous Enchanted Vines again!

I added a few iridescent Nuvo Drops again in places, and for the sentiment I heat embossed the Love You in Antique Gold embossing powder, and mounted it in the centre. I adhered the entire panel to a white notecard, leaving a small border around the edge.

By the way, I mentioned Alcohol Markers. I used some markers from the new Sunshine Valley and Water Garden sets. This release features decal Marker Toppers for those new sets, and I love that they include stickers that you can apply to the plastic marker holder too! (Or. wherever you want to place it!)
