It’s time for a new release from Catherine Pooler Designs! This one is perfect for the guys in your life and with Father’s Day coming up! The team are celebrating with a blog hop I am super excited to be guesting! You should have arrived here from the impeccable Daniel’s blog. Stay tuned for the full hop list and PRIZE details!

For my first card, I created a fish pond! The new Wavy Coverplate die has these wavy lines in it that work perfectly to slot in a small action wobbler!! To create my card, I first ink blended some Sage and Garden Party inks onto a panel of Premium White cardstock, trimmed to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I then die cut the coverplate from some holographic cardstock which I thought would look great as a ‘watery’ backdrop.

I stamped three of the fish from the Fly Daddy set using my MISTI. First I inked up the fish up in Garden Party and stamped, then without moving them, inked half of the fish up in Daydream and used my finger to dab away the harsh line and stamped again. I then repeated with Garden Party again to blend. I used the co-ordinating die to trim it out. I repeated this three times, and then also stamped the fish hook from the set in Black Jack ink and die cut it out.

To attach the fish, I adhered a mini action wobbler to the back of the fish and then slipped one side of it into the waves on the coverplate. This keeps the fish in place, allows them to slide up and down AND wobble! So much fun. I adhered the fish hook with liquid glue, and added some gold thread behind it to act as the fishing line. I adhered the piece. to the ink blended panel with foam tape to enable the fish to keep sliding. To finish, I added some new Blackfoot River sequins including the beads on the fish eyes (I also added some Wink of Stella in Clear to the fish to give them some shimmer). My sentiment is from Ways to Say Hey, die cut from a scrap of blue cardstock – perfect for this sort of busy card, it can be tucked in at the side.

My next card shows you another way to use the Fly Daddy set. I created the fish in the same way as before. I also stamped the rod in Black Jack and the float/hook in Black Jack and Rockin Red. This co-ordinates perfectly with the strip of patterned paper I popped down the side of my panel of Premium White cardstock from the new Too Fly patterned paper. I added some splatters in Daydream, popped my dies up with foam adhesive, and stamped the sentiment in Black Jack. I finished with some Blackfoot River sequins.

My final card uses many of the tiny stamps such as the lures and floats and hooks from the Fly Daddy set. I took a panel of Premium White, some nice co-ordinating inks (Seafoam, Green Tea, Daydream, Skylight, Sage, Skylight, Hot Tub, Twilight and stamped them all over the panel. I stamped the main sentiment in the centre in Midnight ink and popped it onto a card base to finish – fun! And I got to use all my acrylic blocks by CP!
