Hi Everyone! I am excited to share projects today that I created using the new March Fun Stampers Journey Stamp of the Month Club.

The stamp set this month is full of lots of awesome mix and match sentiments in fun and modern styles. There’s also a few images and dashed / dotted lines and spacers. I had great fun piecing together the sentiments to create these you see on the card.

A close up look at the sentiment set. You can get FSJ Stamp of the Month for $20 over on the Spellbinders site. Linked below.

To create my cards, I decided to create bold watercolor backgrounds. I used my pan watercolors to drawstripes of color with a wet brush across a panel of watercolor cardstock. I chose another color and drew more stripes, going back over the original to let them blend together. I repeated this with a range of rainbow colors, then dried the panel. I repeated to deepen the color. I also did this again with another panel with a range of blues and greens.

I decided to dry emboss the panels with Spellbinders dry embossing folders featuring deep 3D patterns. My rainbow panel used a rope textured folder, and my green-blue panel used a fun diamond circle pattern.

I trimmed down the panels and adhered them with colored craft foam to a white notecard. I then used the FSJ sentiment stamps to create my sentiments. I built them up on an acrylic block and then stamped them in embossing ink onto powder tool treated black cardstock. I then heat embossed with Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I wanted to be really bold with my sentiment and chose black and white to stand out against the bright backgrounds. I trimmed them out and adhered with foam tape to my card panels, overlapping the white border on the panel.

As a finishing touch, I scattered some sparkling clear sequins.

I have another card coming up next week using this set in a completely different way – stay tuned and stay healthy folks

  1. I have been looking for a “new” (to me anyway) way to use my embossing folders – something that really shows them off. You have found it – your cards are stunning. Thank you for sharing!
