I love all the Build-A-Flowers – they are so fun to layer, or just use the outline to color. Play with the color combos, and arrangements. However, when a new Rose variety comes out I get extra excited – for some reason the roses are my favorites to create with! Today’s the the first of the month which means there’s a new Build-A-Flower, and imagine my joy, it’s a rose! The Wild Rose!

Today’s post is part of a blog hop and giveaway. If you didn’t land here from Emily’s blog, head on over to the Altenew blog to start from the beginning. The full hop list is included at the end of this post.

I went to my favorite Altenew ink colors for this card – the Tranquility ink set for the leaves, and Sugar Plums ink set for the florals. I stamped the layers of the flower twice onto white cardstock, starting with the outline – I like to use the darkest color from the set (Plum) rather than black ink for a softer look. The flower centres were stamped in Buttercream, and Honey Drizzle.

I used the darkest color from the Tranquility set (Dark Night) for the leaves outline as I’d done for the florals. I stamped the leaves twice also, then die cut out all of the images.

For my background, I repeat stamped the two floral leaf sprigs, using one of the paler colors from the Tranquility set, to coordinate, but also to be pale enough to ensure it doesn’t overpower the main image. I also added a few flicks of metallic shimmer spray in Soft Lilac and Sea Glass.

I arranged the flowers and leaves onto the card panel and stamped a sentiment on gray cardstock in Obsidian ink. I scattered a few crystal sequins to finish.
