Hi Everyone!

As promised in my post yesterday, I’m back today to show you how I created that mini slimline matching envelope using the Spellbinders July Large Die of the Month. I created another card to show you today, featuring the frames from the set, as well as stamps from the Clear Stamp of the Month.

Let’s start with the card. I die cut a panel of hot pink cardstock using the outer frame of the LDOTM. I then added some blanket stitch with metallic gold thread all around the outside. Simply thread each hole from underneath each time rather than going up and down. It adds a nice edged finish to card panels.

I created the gold border frame by die cutting the scalloped frame and then the next inner frame from mirror gold cardstock, then adhered it direct to the pink stitched panel.

The flowers are from the July. Clear Stamp of the Month, heat embossed in white on slightly lighter colored cardstock, then fussy cut out. I added some ink blending over the edges using a deep raspberry purple ink and also blended out a little in the centre of the pink card panel.

For the sentiment, I die cut the Happy Birthday from gold mirror cardstock and its rectangle outline, then adhered it to the card panel with thin strips of foam tape, overlapping the flowers. I then mounted the entire. panel onto a white note card, trimmed to. 6.5″ x 6.5″ scored in the middle. This leaves two small borders at the sides on this mini slimline landscape card. I finished by adding a few Crystal Mix Color Essentials jewels.

Once again for this one I created my matching envelope using the three dies in the LDOTM. You’ll need to die cut the following: 2 of each of the large flap, 2 each of the small flap, and one of the rectangle frames.

Next, add thin strips of double sided tape along the edge of the flaps, then score each of the score lines so that they create angled sides like in the below (one is pre-scoring, the other, after.

Next, adhere each flap to the side of the main panel, so that the tips of the points face inwards.

I find it helps to do the shorter sides, but it doesn’t matter too much.

You can add small strips of double sided tape under the bottom flap at either side to ensure it adheres to the edge flaps – I. prefer to wait until the end of the. card. is done so I know it fits in.

You can see below, the finished card slips in perfectly!

This is a great set to have in your stash – I just love those little. touches on the envelope!
