Hello everyone!!

Can you believe its June already??? Wow this year has flown by in a flash don’t you think? And new month, means new Build-A-Flower from Altenew! This month’s flower is the Tree Peony! It’s a gorgeous, huge bloom that layers really easily. My post today is part of a hop that starts over the Altenew blog if you didn’t land here by way of the wonderful Virginia Lu’s blog! Stay tuned for details on a giveaway and the other stops. on today’s hop!

To make my card, I stamped the outlines of the floral twice, and several of the leaves. I used the Martian Terrain range of inks for one of the flowers, and the Tea Party set for the other, for subtle color change across the the flowers. I also used the Nature’s Wonders range for the inks and Fall Harvest for the centre.

I stamped a few of the sprigs in Jet Black and then stamped all of the images with their coordinating dies.

I wanted to keep my background clean and simple, and match the natural look of the flowers. I die cut the Reflections die from Birch wood paper and adhered it to a panel of white cardstock trimmed to 4″ x 5.25″ and mounted to a white notecard with foam tape. I then arranged my flowers, sprigs and leaves over the top with more foam tape.

I just loved this sentiment – I stamped it in Obsidian Black ink and mounted over the top of the flowers. A few gold translucent crystals finished the card.
