Hi Everyone! Did you see the news!? Altenew is releasing its first ever 8″x 11″ stamp set. It features the gorgeous Majestic Bouquet and it’s stunning – and GIANT! Seriously takes up half my desk and I LOVE IT!Today we’re having a hop to showcase the set. You should have arrived here from my friend Tenia’s blog. If you just happened on the hop at this stop, you can start over at the Altenew blog. The full hop list and Giveaway details are at the end of. this post.

The set features two beautiful florals with multiple layers (more room on a large scale stamp set for more layers!) and tons of pretty leaves. There’s also a stack of sentiments, almost a small stamp set themselves! I wanted to create with both blooms, and I’m featuring one on each card I’m showing today.

For my first card, I wanted to pair the main bloom from the set with the Majestic Bloom 3D Embossing Folder ! I dry embossed an A2 panel of white cardstock, aligning the panel slightly off to the side. The folders have a slit in the top that allows you some wiggle room to angle the panel even if your die cutting machine is a standard size. I wanted to also make sure the image was a little more distinct so very gently brushed Sea Glass Ink over the top.

My main bloom was stamped with the Shades of Purple inks (Midnight Violet, Deep Iris and Soft Lilac) and a Jet Black ink outline. For the centre, I used the lighter Cool Summer Night ink shades in Ocean Waves and Sea Glass. I then fussy cut out the image and adhered it directly over the dry embossed panel and mounted on a note card. The sentiment from the set was heat embossed in Pure White on Jet Black cardstock and I finished with some pretty blue crystals!

I took inspiration from the Majestic Bloom embossing folder for the layout of my second card. I first stamped the second bloom from the Majestic Bouquet stamp set using the same colors as before and trimmed it out and set aside. Then, using an A2 white panel of cardstock, I stamped all the leaves from the stamp set, following a very similar layout to the embossing folder. I used the Cool Summer Nights inks, Jet Black ink and a touch of Lavender Fields.

I mounted the bloom on the panel using foam tape for a little dimension. The sentiment was stamped directly onto the panel in Obsidian Pigment ink, and I added a few more crystals to finish. LOVE this color combo – I can’t believe I’ve not tried it before!
