Hi everyone! It’s the 1st of the month and that means it’s time for a new Build-A-Flower from Altenew! This month’s is the Indian Lotus! Today’s post is part of hop with a giveaway! You can start over at the Altenew card blog and stay tuned for a giveaway.

I wanted to go a little dark with my card so I used my favorite Tranquility ink set. Using a MISTI I stamped two of the of the flowers onto white cardstock. These four layers line up very easily, and I used each one of the ink colours from light to dark, including the outline being in Dark Night rather than typical black for a softer look. I then die cut them out with the coordinating die. I also added some gold gel pen in the centre.

To create my layout, I decided that instead of using the lily pads from the stamp set, I used leaf dies. These are from the recent Whimsical Garden Layering Die set, just the outline dies, which I cut from gold mirror cardstock.

To carry on the blue and gold theme, I die cut the Candy Cane Stripe cover die from Navy. cardstock and adhered it to a white notecard. I then arranged my two lillies over the top in the centre with foam tape, and slipped the leaves underneath with a few dots of glue.

To finish my sentiment, I die cut ‘BE’ from the Fine Alphabet dies in gold mirror and white carstock and stacked them together and overlaid onto the Indian Lotuses. The sub sentiment was stamped in Obsidian Black pigment ink and popped on top. I finished with a few Antique Gold and white sequins.
