It’s that time of the crafty calendar – the big reveal of Altenew’s new stamps release! There is something for everyone in this release, and I’m sure you’re going to see completely different inspiration on every stop on this hop! You can start over at the Altenew blog, and the full hop list is at the end of this post, along with GIVEAWAY deets!

I have several projects to share with you today, and probably my favorite is the first one. It features the new Fairy Tale Florals which is a stunning giant layering bouquet stamp set (with coordinating die and stencil). For this first card, I heat embossed the main bouquet outline using Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder onto Blush cardstock.

I then used the coordinating stencil to do some selective ink blending – I used Fuchsia for the outer edges of the main blooms and buds and Baby Pink in the centre. I also used Aqualicious on the leaves, leaving some of the pink cardstock showing for a nice two tone look. I added some sparkling clear shimmer pen on the petals and then die cut out the bouquet.

For my background I dry embossed Pale Gray cardstock using the Storybook Frame 3D embossing folder – I love this folder, it anchors a central image perfectly. I mounted the main bloom on foam tape and then heat embossed a coordinating sentiment from the set. I finished with a few iridescent gemstones.

My second card features this same stamp set, with a wholly different look. I stamped the main image on a panel of coldpress watercolor cardstock in waterproof black ink, as well as a coordinating sentiment. I then watercolored it with some pale blues and greens with my pan watercolors and outlines in pale gray, along with some splatters.

You’ll see the cross hatching in the florals adding more depth – these are stamps from the set that can be used to ‘sketch in’ the shading. It’s such a fab idea! I stamped the cross hatching over the top of the petals and leaves using Winter Lake and Marshland. I added some details with a black gel pen in the centres and finished with a few silver embellishment dots.

My next card features the GORGEOUS Hill BLooms Layering Stencil. It creates a pretty layered floral bloom using different stencils that add dimension and create the entire image – no stamping! I created mine using the Shades of Purple ink range for the florals, and Vanilla and Hazelnut for the leaves, over the top of a panel of Spicy Yoghurt cardstock.

I heat embossed a sentiment from the Fairy Tale Florals in Antique Gold on the panel and added a few black ink mixed with water on the panel. I then decided to dry emboss the entire panel with the Garden Harmony 3D embossing panel. Its hard to see in the photo but the texture is there in real life. I nearly added the sentiment again afterwards due to it being hard to see the sentiment in the photos, but in real life it’s very easy to read so I left as was!

For my final card, I went with lots of colors! I first created a rainbow background panel with Watercolor Brush Markers by swiping them across a panel of Bristol smooth watercolor cardstock, and then using a wet brush to blend them. I then dry embossed the panel with the new Dancing Peacock 3D embossing folder. I lightly rubbed the Altenew Enchanted Gold pigment ink pad over the top of the dry embossing and the image picks up the ink and defines the image more clearly.

I fussy cut around the feathers in places and mounted the panel onto a Jet Black panel of cardstock with foam tape. The sentiment is from the awesome ‘One Card’ mini stamp set, heat embossed in white.
