Happy Monday everyone! It’s the start of the week and the month, and that means it’s time for a new Build-A-Flower from Altenew! This month’s flower is a Semi-Double Chrysanthemum – a long name for a beautiful large bloom.

Today’s post is part of a blog hop. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Blog. The full hop list is at the end of this post, as well as details of today’s giveaway, and the next stop on the hop.

I decided to go for muted yellows on my card today – I was feeling sunny, but wanted to have that hint of a vintage feel.

I used the Fall Harvest set of inks (Butternut, Pumpkin Pie, Yellow Ochre, Sicilian Amber) to stamp the blooms themselves, including the outline. I also added some extra depth in the crevices using a darker marker from the Artist Markers (Water Garden Set G). I stamped two of the blooms and die cut them out with their coordinating dies.

For the leaves, I used the Natures Wonders set of inks and again stamped them light to dark, including the outline . I didn’t add additional markers to the leaves, and die cut them out.

For my background, I used a panel of Moonrock cardstock and blended some Misty Moor, Marsh Land and a touch of Sea Forest with an Altenew blending tool. I then dry embossed it with the Altenew Diamond Stars 3D embossing folder. For a little shimmer (while still subtle) I splattered a small amount of Warm Sunshine Shimmer Spray.

I arranged the florals and leaves onto my panel when it dried, then heat embossed the sentiment in Pure White embossing powder on Jet Black cardstock. I did a little fussy cutting and then adhered it onto the panel with foam tape to finish.
