Hello everyone!

It’s time for the Spellbinders Kit Club Blog Hop, where designers give you some more inspiration for using those monthly kits. I’m featuring the Glimmer, Large Die AND Small Die clubs all on one card today!

To create my card I first die cut the lattice border plate from the Small Die club – I cut it four times from a teal cardstock, adhered two together twice and ended up with two strips. As you saw from my card earlier this week, this panel is half the front of an A2 size card. So it’s perfect for a front opening card! I grabbed a panel of 110lb card stock trimmed to 5.5″ x 8.5″. I then scored it at 2 1/8 Inch from one end, flipped it round and scored again at 2 1/8 inches. Folding these in towards the centre gives you a nice little centre opening door card!

I adhered the teal panels on these front flaps, being careful to line them up. I then used one of the lattice window dies in the set WITHOUT the coordinating outer edge and die cut through the front of the flaps to create little windows. Make sure as you run it through the die cutting machine that it is fully opened out – you don’t want to cut the inside! You should end up with 6 pretty little lattice windows.

Using the Large Die club kit I pulled out the 7 and the 2. My Dad’s birthday (like my Father In Law’s for my earlier card this week) is also in March, so I thought creating little number door handles on the front would be fun. I die cut them both 3 times from white cardstock, and once from some custom glitter cardstock from my stash (created with WOW! Sparkles). I then adhered them all together and popped them onto the front of my card with foam squares for extra dimension.

To finish, I used the Happy Birthday plate from the Glimmer February Club, and glimmered it onto the inside of the card using Matte Silver foil. Be careful to line it up so that when the doors close, you can’t see it through the windows. I loved how well this worked so much, I also glimmered a coordinating silver envelope with the same foil using the Hello from the set for a subtle tone on tone letterpress look!

Your next stop on the hop is the awesome Hussena! Enjoy!
