Hello everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and warm right now in this tough winter – sending good thoughts to you all caught up in it. Hopefully the inspiration on today’s Altenew blog hop, celebrating the Wondrous World release, will brighten your day. There is a givaway, and I’ve included the full hop list at end of this post.

My first card features the new Nesting Slim Rectangles dies which cut out a perfect slimline card (the largest die in the set), with a lightly embossed border around the edge. I die cut this size from Spicy Yoghurt cardstock.

I adhered the panel to my craft mat and created some custom embossing paste with Icy Water ink mixed into Altenew’s embossing paste. Using the new Narrow Brick stencil, I smeared over the paste on the lower half of the panel, fading out to the edges roughly, rather than going right up to it. I carefully removed the stencil, then replaced it and finished the paste up the remainder of the panel. Before it dried, I also sprinkled some clear glitter over the top.

My main focal piece is the giant and gorgeous Floral Lace die. It fits just about perfectly onto a slimeline card. I diecut mine from silver mirror cardstock and then when the paste on my panel was dry, adhered it over the top with foam squares trimmed to fit. The sentiment is from Simple Greetings, using silver mirror cardstock layered over. white cardstock, then popped up on foam tape.

I adhered the panel onto a white notecard created to leave a thin white border, and then encrusted the floral die cut with gems to finish!

For my next card, I got a two for one! It features the Radial Butterflies Cover Plate die. I first took a panel of watercolor cardstock and spritzed it all over with water. I then dropped in some pinks and yellows from the Altenew Watercolor pan and let them spread out abd blend.

When dried, I used the Radial Butterflies die to die cut the panel being careful to leave all of the pieces in the die itself. I flipped it over and very quickly went and added a blob of glue on the back of every butterfly. I then flipped it onto an A2 panel of white cardstock, lining up the corners of the die with the corners of the panel.

I used a pokey tool to carefully poke out each of the butteflies, adhering them to the white card panel underneath. I then slowly peeled back the cover die and removed the negative frame which I adhered to another panel of white cardstock.

The sentiments are both from the Block Sentiments stamp set from an earlier release, stamped in Obsidian Black into directly into the centre of the panel. For the panel with the outline, I also die cut a Mix & Match Mariposa butterfly from gold mirror and white cardstock, and scattered a few gems to finish.

For my next card, I’m featuring the Flower Bunch Layering Stencil. This is four different stencils that overlay on each other, and after ink blending you end up with a beautiful dimensional image. I ink blended a variety of pinks including Pastel Sunrise and Canyon Clay, greens including Sea Forest and Marshland, and Mangrove Root, and pale browns (Almond Butter, Vanilla Cream). I then fussy cut out the image.

For my background, I dry embossed Moonrock cardstock with the new Daisies 3D embossing folder. I mounted the fussy cut bunch onto the top and scattered a few pale pink Nuvo Drops to finish. The Hang In There sentiment is from the previously released Essentials Sentiments die.

For my final card, I’m featuring the new (and essential for your stash!) Branches and Berries die set. I die cut several of them from different materials including gold mirror cardstock, pale blue watercolored cardstock that I created with a scrap piece of cardstock, and washi tape adhered to a panel of cardstock – the Foiled Marble Washi is gorgeous and perfect for die cutting. I also die cut the Fancy Thanks die from the Marble Washi, and gold. mirror cardstock.

To pull my card together, I used a panel of Spicy Yoghurt cardstock, dry embossed the new Mod Squares 3D Embossing folder. I mounted the branches loosely with liquid glue and foam squares in the centre, and tied a gold thread bow at the bottom using Altenew’s Metallic Thread. I adhered the Thanks over the top (having glued the gold mirror and washi tape layers together), and then scattered a few Antique Gold sequins and clear Nuvo Drops. I also added some Stardust Stickles onto some of the branches for extra sparkle!
