I am excited to share this month’s Altenew Paint-A-Flower you today! Not only is the new Paint-A-Flower Clematis quite a clever little stamp, Altenew is also releasing two new sets of Artists Markers as well! Woo! You can head on over to the Altenew Blog to start this hop from the beginning, or stay tuned to see my projects, as well as giveaway details and your next hop stop.

I created two projects with the Clematis stamp today, with two different mediums and two different ways to line up the stamp. For my first, I stamped the image twice on the right hand side of an A2 panel of Spicy Yoghurt cardstock. You can use the lines of the trellis to line up the images. I stamped in Vanilla Cream ink which is super light and great for no line coloring.

I spent a fair bit of time coloring this image with my Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils, starting with darker colors and then blending them out into lighter and light colors. I added some wood detail using swipes of darker brown in the pale brown.

When I was happy with it, I added some white gel pen detail into the flower centres, and then stamped the sentiment directly over the top in Altenew Obsidian ink. I finished with a few Nuvo Vintage Drops.

My second card features the image stamped twice, this time onto white cardstock (I’m using X-press It) using Altenew Permanent Black ink which is alcohol ink friendly – perfectly for coloring with the brand new alcohol markers. This time I stamped the image first at the base of the card using my MISTI, and then flipped the cardstock around and stamped it again.

I colored in the image using the brand new Artists Markers sets F and G, using the same swipe technique as I did with the colored pencils to get that wood type look on the trellis.

I used the Fancy Hello Die for the main focal point, die cut from gold mirror cardstock and white cardstock layered together and adhered to the centre. I then used a sub-sentiment from the stampset popped up on a foam strip. Completely different look don’t you think?!
