It’s Paint-A-Flower release hop day – yey!! You should have arrived here from Tina’s blog. If not, you can pop on over to the Altenew Blog where they start the hop fun today!

Today’s release is the Camellia, which is featured in a gorgeous bunch resplendent with leaves and berries.

I decided to actually color mine in with Altenew Alcohol Markers which I recently purchased in a sale before the holidays. I stamped the flower image in Altenew Permanent Black ink which alcohol marker safe, onto X-Press It Blending cardstock which I prefer for alcohol marker coloring.

I decided to keep this card really simple to let the image shine. I colored with a variety of markers, from sets C and D, building up the color, and adding contrast into the corners. A simple sentiment stamped in the corner in Obsidian Pigment ink finished the panel which I mounted onto a card base.

To add a little shine, I added clear Nuvo drops onto the berries to give them a little dimension but didn’t add more embellishments than that.
