Hello everyone!! If it’s your first time stopping by my blog this year – Happy New Year! Are you ready for a fresh start? Well, that’s the name of today’s release from Altenew – isn’t it just perfect? We’re showcasing the new release with a hop, and if you arrived here first, you can pop on over to the start over on the Altenew blog. Otherwise, all of the stops on this hop are at the end of this post (and of course details of a giveaway!)

I created 9 projects with this release !! I couldn’t stop creating, it’s so inspiring, and just had a great crafty mojo one day. I’ll be sharing more of the projects I created over the coming days, and am kicking off with FOUR of them for today’s hop. (Image heavy post!)

My first card features the A Little Bit of Love stamp set and Ribbon Waves 3D Embossing Folder. These hands can be stamped and die cut at different angles depending on which stamp sizes you use, and they form a heart! I colored mine with alcohol markers after stamping with Permanent Black ink then die cut them out. I used a variety of brown shades and also some hot pinks for the nails.

For the background, I decided to coordinate with the hot pink nails and ink blended a panel of cold press watercolor cardstock with hot pink inks (Fuchsia, Magenta and Baby Pink) then dry embossed the panel with the Ribbon Waves folder. I adhered the hands with foam squares to form a heart, and stamped the sentiment from the set in Obsidian Black ink. A few hot pink and iridescent clear sequins finished the card.

My next card features the Grid Cover die, Versatile Vases 2, and Simple Greetings dies. I actually used the Grid Cover die a little differently and die cut it twice from pale green and green cardstock, then trimmed off the frame outer edge on each. I overlapped them to create almost a plaid look and trimmed them down slightly. before adhering to a white notecard.

The new Versatile Vases 2 stamp set is awesome – lots of differently sized vases perfect for popping in any florals (or use on their own). I stamped one of the vases in pale gray and then stamped a floral from an earlier release in different shades of green directly over the top. The flowers are stamped using colors from the recently released Martian Terrain set of inks . I also added some Black gel pen into the centre.

I used partial die cutting to die cut the vase up to just below the lip of the vase, being sure not to fully die cut it out. I then used the coordinating die for the floral and did the same (but from the other side) to create one die cut!

I mounted the piece onto my background and coated the entire vase with Nuvo Crystal Glaze for the look of water. The sentiment is from the new Block Sentiments which I stamped in Pastel Sunrise and die cut out. Finally Thanks is one of the new Simple Greetings dies – white cardstock and metallic gold cardstock layered together coordinates perfectly!

My third card for today features the Vintage Garden stamp set – another GIANT and gorgeous floral bloom, perfect for watercoloring. I used my Altenew 36. pan watercolors after stamping the image in pale water soluble ink onto coldpress watercolor cardstock for a no-line watercolor look. I liberally added a lot of splatters, and then actually dry embossed the panel with the Ribbon Swirls 3D embossing folder although it is hard to tell in the photo – it adds some fun shading in real life, although is quite subtle!

For the sentiment I simply heat embossed in white on Jet Black cardstock, trimmed it out and popped it up on foam squares. I added a few clear confetti sequins to finish.

My final card is super clean and simple. I had some embossing paste mixed with ink from a previous crafting session that I had added to a white panel using the Diamond Snowflakes stencil. I decided to use it as the background for the Block Sentiments I <3 U stamps.

I stamped all three of them in Coral Berry Mixed Media ink and then die cut them out with the coordinating circle die. I inked around the edge too to avoid a border and then mounted them down the centre of the embossing paste panel with foam squares.
