Good morning everyone and welcome to my little stop on today’s Altenew Craft-A-Flower release. If you came here as a first stop, I highly recommend heading on over to the Altenew Blog to start from the beginning. I have all of the stops listed at the end of this post, along with giveaway details -there are over $200 worth of prizes!

Today’s Craft-A-Flower, which if you’re not familiar, is a monthly floral layering die set from Altenew (available on subscription), is the Morning Glory. I think this one might be my favorite CAF project I’ve created so far – I wanted to use unusual and darker colors, with metallic accents, and love how it turned out.

I die cut out most of the layers using white cardstock with the exception of the flower centres/top leaf layer and stamens which I cut from gold mirror cardstock. I inked up the white cardstock prior to die cutting using colors from the Martian Terrain range of inks.

I used the Altenew Glue Pen to adhere the layers together – it’s got a super fine tip so it’s really easy to use on tiny dies like these.

For my background I used the recently released Dotted Lines Debossing Cover Die on a panel of Jet Black cardstock. I then used Altenew’s Metallic watercolors to splatter different shades of gold and red paint onto the panel – it shows up beautifully against the black cardstock!

When dry, I mounted my Morning Glory florals and leaves using foam squares, and liquid glue. I popped up a small sentiment stamped in black down in the bottom right on foam tape and adhered the panel onto a white notecard.
