Hi Everyone!

I’m so thrilled to be joining Mama Elephant as part of their 8th Anniversary Stampede! It’s Day 2 and the fabulous release that we are showcasing is available now in the Mama Elephant shop! And of course, there is a giveaway accompanying this Stampede! Stay tuned to the end of this post for more details.

Mama Elephant has been around almost as long as I’ve been stamping and they were among some of the first stamps I ever bought (Up & Away was such a favorite of mine) so when they asked me to join in their celebrations I was thrilled to say the least! I have two projects to share today featuring stamp sets from the new release – both of mine feature Copic coloring and I’ve snapped the marker colors I used at the end of the post in the supplies for those who want to know!

My first card features Santa Baby and the co-ordinating Creative Cuts set. I wanted to use as many of the cute little images as possible to create a storyboard of Santa getting his letter and delivering his gifts. I stamped them all and colored them with Copics and then die cut them out with the co-ordinating dies. I went for a traditional color scheme, and added some white and gold highlights (as well as a few dots of dimension here and there with clear Nuvo Drops on his glasses and belt and the tree).

Fun fact – the postboxes in the UK are traditionally red but there are a few that were painted gold to celebrate the 2012 Olympics /Paralympics medal winners – so I went for gold for a little sparkle.

I die cut several little polaroid type frames from the Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts from gold mirror and red cardstock to match the color scheme, then adhered them to a panel of white cardstock splattered with gold spray trimmed to 8″ x 3.5″.

I popped the panel onto green cardstock and then onto a tall notecard, triming off the excess. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on black cardstock and then I added some Nuvo Gold Glitter Accents to finish.

My second card features the Gingerbread Cookies stamp and co-ordinating Creative Cuts set. I colored the big plate, the milk (adding a cute little face), some extra gingerbread and hats/bows, and the two tiny little gingerbread guys. I also stamped the sentiment onto the sign, then die cut them all out with the co-ordinating Creative Cuts.

For my backdrop I wanted them to be on a kitchen table all ready for Santa, so chose some festive and cute wallpaper from my patterned paper stash, splattered it with gold and white spray, then adhered it to a note card. I trimmed a large curve from some kraft cardstock, edged it with some darker brown Distress ink then adhered it to the paper panel to look like the ‘table’.

I arranged my gingerbread cookies onto the ‘table’ including some popped up with foam tape for dimension, and added lots of clear shimmer onto the bows and scarves, and some dimensional black gel pen on the eyes. I also finished with some Gold Accents again to tie the two cards together!

As part of the celebration, Mama Elephant are sharing some free goodies and their annual sale!
