Welcome to the WOW! Embossing and Gerda Steiner Designs Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Gemma’s blog. If you get lost along the way, the full list is at the end of this post along with details of the PRIZES you can win. WOW! and GSD have teamed up to showcase some of their gorgeous powders and cute stamps!

I have two cards to share today. The first features Gerda Steiner’s Balancing Mouse which is darling little 3 x 4 set so a great price point! I created my background first, by repeat stamping the light strip over the background on a panel of Canson XL watercolor cardstock. This is super easy to line up and I stamped it in WOW! ink and heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold after every stamping so I could see where to stamp next.

I colored the lights in with pale pink and purple paint (I was in my daughter’s room while I made this so I used Crayola paint LOL!) I then added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew which is clear, to add some ‘glass-like’ dimension. When they were dry I felt the background still . needed a little something, so I ink blended Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the edges and added some water splatters, before mounting it onto a white card base.

I stamped the mouse and ball and heat embossed in the same way. I colored the mouse in with the same crayola watercolors, and then fussy cut him out. On the bauble, I smeared liquid glue, let it dry slightly and the sprinkled Frisky Sparkles glitter all over it, then let the glue dry. I gently removed any excess Sparkles with a craft pick, and then to keep them fully in place, I added Crystal Glaze all over the top and left it to dry fully. I then mounted the ball and mouse on my card with foam tape. I also added a sentiment from the set heat embossed and inked in co-ordinating colors.

For my next card, I used the super cool On the Bookshelf stamp set by GSD. This is a great builder set that you can build up little scenes with. I first stamped all of my images with Copic friendly black ink, stamping the cat on the books first, and then masking him off with a Post-It so that his tail wasn’t covered by the shelf. I added the shelf, two of the stacked books, and the plant, then colored them all with Copics. I also added a little highlight of white gel pen too.

For my background, I stamped the little mouse in grey ink all over a panel of WOW! cardstock, and then trimmed it down with a stitched rectangle die. I also added some black ink splatters.

I stamped the ‘Relax’ sentiment from the set in WOW! ink and heat embossed in the gorgeous Metalline Flame embossing powder. I did the same on a scrap of white cardstock for the other sentiment and popped it up on foam squares. I then added the shelf with foam tape and popped the whole thing onto a white notecard. As a finishing touch, I added some brown-gold sequins from the Catherine Pooler Cincinnati sequin collection.
