Hi Everyone!

It’s time for the Altenew November 2019 Release Blog Hop and I’m super excited to be guesting! And WOW are you in for a treat on this release!! I have a video and several cards to showcase some of the new goodies.

You should have arrived here from Amber’s blog. The next stop on the hop is Jessica Frost-Ballas. I’ve included the full hop list at the end of this post in case you get lost along the way. It wouldn’t be an Altenew hop without prizes, so be sure to stayed tuned for more details. Here’s a look at the new release. Scroll down for my cards!

I have four cards to share today as part of the hop, and I’ll also be sharing two more tomorrow featuring the new release products.

My first card features the Mariposa Mix & Match dies – these are a gorgeous collection of solid and intricate layering butterfly dies, perfectly sized, with so many possibilities.

I’ve created a video showing you how I created this card which you can find here or over on YouTube.

Don’t you just love the look of those butterflies in gold mirror cardstock against that dramatic ink blended teal background! The Altenew Antique Gold spray adds the perfect splatter. The sentiment is from the new Plentiful Pine stamp set also from the release.

For my next card, I really wanted to create a taller card, so I cut a panel of cardstock to 3.5″ x 8″ and used the Altenew Antique Gold Pigment ink to stamp a background of leaves over the entire panel – the leaves I used are from an older set – Wallpaper Art, and create the perfect backdrop for the new set I’m using – an awesome layering floral set, Regal Beauty. I also added some splatters of dark purple ink mixed with water using a paintbrush.

I stamped the larger floral and four of the smaller florals from the set using a combination of purples and blue purples, mixing them up to create slightly different shades. The centres were stamped in dark grey and layered with a white pigment ink. I then die cut them out with the co-ordinating dies.

Because I love those Mariposa butterflies so much, I die cut two of the smaller one from gold cardstock and created co-ordinating purple and blue cardstock by swiping my ink on white cardstock before die cutting it with the solid smaller butterfly die. I then layered them together.

For my last bit of die cutting, I die cut the new Fancy Thanks die from gold mirror cardstock as well as twice from white cardstock and adhered them together.

To build my card, I adhered the Thanks die to the panel with liquid glue and then adhered the flowers around it with foam squares, using a couple of layers in some places. I placed the butterflies over the top of the flowers as if they were fluttering over the flowers.

To finish, I added some Nuvo Dream Drops and Stone Drops in co-ordinating colors, and added a tiny heat embossed ‘just’ sentiment from the stamp set.

My next card uses the Plentiful Pine stamp set and co-ordinating dies. This is an AMAZING layering set. It looks super complicated but it’s very fool proof and results in amazing layered pine trees. I used the Altenew Green Fields set of inks to stamp the layers for both trees, and then die cut them out.

For my background panel I used some paler blue-green ink and blended down a panel of watercolor cardstock, fading out towards the bottom. I then added some white acrylic paint splatters and water splatters to mimic snow.

I stamped a sentiment from the set directly onto the panel with black ink and then arranged the die cuts with foam tape. As a finishing touch I added some clear Nuvo Drops (which sucked up some of the ink on the trees and made it look like holiday baubles!) Check out the dimension on those branches!

My final card for today uses the It’s a Feast stamp set whch is super quick to stamp and color. I stamped it twice in alcohol marker friendly ink, making sure to hang it off the side fold of my A2 note card, and then restamped it again on the back. You can see the back in the photo above. I thought it would be fun to ‘wrap’ the table around the card. I used 110lb cardstock to prevent bleeding to the inside (you can always add a panel of card to the inside if you do get some bleed through).

I colored in the images with just three or four different alcohol markers colors – I’m using Copics (Altenew’s are on my wish list!). I wanted to keep the coloring simple, so only added shading here or there. I also added some gold gel pen for the candles, and some Crystal Glaze to the glass items on the table for shine and give the illusion of glass.

To finish, I stamped the main sentiment in black ink above the table – a super fun one layer card!
