Hi Everyone!

I’m excited to be taking part with Michelle Lupton’s Challenge Me a Christmas Card 2018 again!  I love that Michelle asked me back, and for this year I challenged her to use powder watercolors.  You can check out the gorgeous cards she came up with over on her blog here.

For my card, I used Nuvo Shimmer Powders which have a touch of mica in them for sparkle.  I went full sparkle for my card using glitter pastes as well!

To create my card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass 1 stencil and adhered it to Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock cut to  4.25″ x 5.5″ and pasted Bo Bunny Glitter Paste in Sugar over the top.

Before removing I sprinkled Nuvo Shimmer paints over the top in a variety of blues and purples and pinks.  I spritzed liberally with water and gently (Very gently) patted with a paper towel.

I then added sprinkles of gold embossing powder in places and heated with my heat tool (not an embossing tool, the Ranger Craft Heat Tool) which is gentler. I then set it aside to fully dry.

My sentiment is from the Power Poppy Glistening Paperwhites, heat embossed in white embossing powder on Midnight black cardstock and trimmed out.  When the panel was dry, I adhered it to a white card base and popped the sentiment up on foam tape.

I love this technique and I’ll have a few more cards showing this with different base mediums in an upcoming video – please be sure to follow along with Michelle’s Challenge Me a Christmas Card – they’re absolutely fab!

Have a wonderful day!

Jenny
