Wow it’s been so long since I posted a card!  I have still been crafting, but my laptop was out of commission so no blog updates!   Finally I’m back in cyberspace, so decided to get things moving with a new Color Throwdown challenge!

Color Throwdown 308
Amazing colors – who could resist!! It’s my parent’s 38th wedding anniversary in a few days so I figured I’d make them a card into the bargain.
Isn’t it cute! I love Mama Elephant (particularly as most of their stamps come with matching dies – I’m an appalling fussy cutter!)
I used Antique Linen distress ink to outline the chicks to give them a softer edge, and watercolored them in with Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress markers. The background was stamped with Dandelion and Tangelo memento dye ink, and Bubble Gum Hero Arts shadow ink.  I used Picked Rasperry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks to blend the background, and added a vellum overlay to soften the colors a little.
I am on an embossing vellum kick right now – I think this is a falling snow embossing folder.   There’s so much you can do with vellum!!  I haven’t used it anywhere near enough in the past.  The vellum and ink card stock were cut out with Lil Inkers stitched mat dies, and all backed onto some yellow Bazzill card stock.  The sentiment and banner are from Simon Says Stamp.
Finally a gold die cut heart and clear sequins finished it off.
That’s all for today, hope you liked it. Be back very soon.
