Hi Folks!

Welcome to my stop on the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop. I hope you’ve enjoyed the hop so far, we’re just getting warmed up! You should have arrived here from Laura’s blog. Be sure to stay tuned for details on the prizes that can be won on the hop (SO MANY AMAZING SPONSORS) and the next stop.

Regular visitors to my blog will know I live in New York (Westchester) and until the beginning of March, commuted to NYC for my day job via mass transit. The world for me has changed a lot. I am lucky enough to have my husband, and daughter Ruby with me. Home schooling her while working from home is really tough, I won’t lie. But not as tough as the amazing essential workers who deliver food, stock groceries, deliver mail etc, and of course, the wonderful healthcare workers (and their resilient families) putting our lives ahead of theirs as they turn up to hospitals and urgent care facilities. Amazing – I encourage you all to send some of those handmade cards to these folks to brighten their day. We can never thank them enough.

My card features the Adore die from Catherine Pooler Designs. I thought this was perfect given the situation we are all in, but to show that doors can be joyful, I have added a twist of roses creeping up the size. I die cut the door from kraft cardstock and adhered it to a white notecard with very thin strips of 3M foam tape.

I also stamped three of the smaller rose from the Rose Garden layering stamp set from CPD. The colors I used were Sweet Sixteen for the first layer, Pixie Dust, Flirty Fuchsia, and Royal Treatment for the last, more detailed layer. I then die cut them out with the co-ordinating die.

I die cut the Perfect Vine dies (by CPD) from 110lb white cardstock twice. I then smushed my WOW! ink pad over two of them, and coated with a layer of embossing powder and heat embossed. I then repeated this again. The embossing powders I used were WOW! Dominica and Montserrat from the WOW! Caribbean Charm trio that was released in February this year. This is my first time using them and oh em gee they are GORGEOUS! I wish the photos could do them justice. If you’ve been looking for dreamy greens for leaves, then you need this trio! See below for a close up – Montserrat on the left and Dominica on the right. I layered up the leaves with the matching second die cuts and then adhered them to the Adore die.

I used foam squares to add the roses and then scattered a few CPD Miami sequins. The sentiment was stamped in Royal Treatment and is from the WOW! Mandala stamp set by my friend Karen Reátegui.
