Hi Folks!

WOW! Embossing and Jillian Vance Design are hosting a fun collaboration blog hop today with designers across both teams using each other’s products to create some lovely inspiration for you all. I focused my cards today on large die-cut sentiments as I wanted to really show off some fun powders, and the Grande Greetings Word dies by Jillian Vance Design are perfect for this.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a WOW! hop without PRIZES, so stay tuned until the end of the post for more details, and the full hop list.

For my first card, I used the gorgeous WOW! Embossing Sunset Boulevard embossing glitter. It’s absolutely stunning, especially when several layers are embossed over each other on word dies, as I did here. I used the Grande Greetings Friend Word die by Jillian Vance Design to die cut four layers of white cardstock, heat embossing on just one of those layers (three times) and then adhering them all together with liquid glue.

I also heat embossed the heart stamp from the WOW! Hello Lovely stamp set in the same powder onto vellum and fussy cut it out, then adhered to the back of the ‘friend’ die.

For my background panel, I blended some ‘sunset’ shaded inks together using blender brushes. I used Catherine Pooler inks in Lemoncello, Tiki Torch and Coral Cabana. I also splattered some Midas Touch Shimmer Pen by Nuvo over the panel and to add some subtle texture, ran the panel through my die cutting machine with a basket weave embossing folder.

I adhered the Friend die and vellum hearts to the centre, hiding the glue behind the word die. As a finishing touch I also added some co-ordinating sequins and Nuvo Jewel Drops.

For my next card, I used the Grande Greetings Hello Word die by Jillian Vance Design. I also wanted to use the WOW! Queen of Hearts embossing powder. It’s a fabulous mix of black, red, gold and silver, and I thought it would be perfect to co-ordinate with the Jillian Vance Design logo!

I created the word die in the exact same way as before, just using two layers of embossing powder this time though as Queen of Hearts is pretty chunky. I also stacked it using black cardstock rather than white.

For my background I stamped the hearts from the WOW! Hello Lovely stamp set again, this time stamped in Rouge ink. I adhered the ‘Hello’ die over the top with liquid glue, then added some additional stamping from the same set in Rouge and Versafine Onyx Black ink to co-ordinate. I just love those little arrows that pop through the hearts!

I added some Nuvo Hearts in a couple of places which I thought were the perfect finishing touch!
