Power Poppy has another new digital stamp today as part of the ongoing Christmas Remix fun! It’s called Poinsettia XL and it’s definitely going to a pack a punch on your holiday cards! There’s even a super close up included in the download – I’ve created two cards showcasing both of the images – and they’re a little outside the box!

For my first card, I printed out the zoomed in version of the image on teal cardstock (by Gina K) and then ran it through my Minc with Opal Decofoil. I then blended Distress Ink around the edges in towards the centre in Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot.

I was going to leave it at that, but decided to add a little more dimension with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers in navy, dark blue and black, pulling them out with a little water. I them trimmed the panel down to just smaller than an A2 size card.

I added lots of splatters over the piece using water, white ink spray, white acrylic paint, and glitter spray, letting it react with the ink. When the panel was dry, I popped it up onto a black card base with navy fun foam.

My sentiment is from the Glistening Paperwhites stamp set (which I used in yesterday’s post), heat embossed on navy cardstock in Metallic Silver then popped up on the card. As a finishing touch, I used some blue-green sequins to create the Poinsettia centre. One of the team suggested this was a ‘galaxy poinsettia’ and I have to agree!

My second card uses the full view version with co-ordinating sentiment from the Poinsettia XL. I printed it out on coldpress watercolor cardstock, then colored it using purple shades of the Tombow markers. When dry, I went back in with shades of dark purple Copic to add a little more shading. I also added lots of purple splatters.

I decided to add gold gel pen throughout to emphasise the petal and leaf details, and then went round the main image with a Copic multi-liner. I figured since I wasn’t sticking to natural colors I may as well make it festive!

To finish, I added some purple sequins and gold confetti. I also added some purple and pink Nuvo Crystal Drops, including in the centre, and sprinkled a little bit of gold glitter in the centre before they dried for a touch of sparkle!

Now go check out what the other Bloomies and Gardeners have come up with for this new image – you’re going to be wowed!
