Hi Everyone and Welcome to Day 3 of the Catherine Pooler Designs Wild & Wonderful Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from Catherine’s blog. If you get lost along the way, the full list of stops along the hop is at the end of this post.  Be sure to comment on each post to be in with a chance to win – 5 random lucky winners will be chosen to receive two free ink pads (with free shipping!)  Winners will be announced on Friday, May 25 on Catherine’s blog.

I have loved playing with this release and have a few cards I created to share today, including a video.  The new release has two beautiful florals sets, two AMAZING background stamps, a great thank you sentiment set, and co-ordinating butterfly dies that you can use in a variety of ways, either in combination or separately.   I’ll show you some of them today.

Card 1

My first card (actually two cards) uses a the Wonderful Wildflowers 6×8 layered floral stamp set.  I’m only using the main solid layer for each flower and leaf, but mixing up the ink colours on the stamp itself with water to create a watercolor look.  You can check out the video of how I created these cards below or over on my YouTube channel.

The red – yellow card uses Rockin Red blended into Shea Butter, and the pink-purple uses Grape Crush blended into Be Mine (love this color combo!)

Card 2

My second card uses the BFF Background stamp and the Focus on the Good Florals stamps and dies, with sentiment from Note of Thanks.  To create the background, I heat embossed the BFF background in gold onto coldpress watercolor cardstock (great for ink blending).  I then used a mini-ink blending tool and blended Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust, Flirty Fuchsia and Grape Crush (in that order) over the panel from bottom to top.  For a good blend, blend the full panel with the lightest, and go over it with the next color, stopping 3/4 of the way up, next halfway up and last just along the bottom.  By overlapping, you get a really nice transition and smooth blend. I then flicked the panel with black ink (mixed with a little water) and adhered to a white card base.

I stamped the florals from Focus on the Good onto Catherine Pooler Premium White cardstock in Midnight ink (for the outlines) and then Mint to Be, Eucalyptus, Sweet Sixteen, Stone Blue, Seafoam and Pixie Dust and then die cut them out.

I arranged them in the corner and adhered with foam tape and liquid glue for varying dimension.   The sentiment is from Note of Thanks and was stamped on Catherine Pooler black cardstock in Versamark and heat embossed with WOW! white embossing powder, then adhered over the florals.  For a finishing touch I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Violet Galaxy.

Card 3

My final card is more clean and simple.  I was inspired by a card by fellow Creative Teamie Ilina Crouse for a past Stamp of Approval release (see here).  I wanted to use the teeny tiny stamps from the Note of Thanks set.  To create the card, I masked off a diagonal strip on a panel of CPD Premium White cardstock trimmed just smaller than an A2 card panel. I then stamped the small flowers and leaves from the set across the masked area randomly in a variety of CPD inks in Party Dress, Limoncello, Grape Crush, All That Jazz, and Be Mine (all the Carnivale collection on one card!)  To fill in the gaps, I used a green glitter gel marker by Sakura and drew random dots.  I then used Midnight Ink to stamp the THX sentiment directly over the top. I added some glossy accents on some of the flower centres and scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins. I popped the entire panel onto a white card base using craft foam.

That’s it for today but I have a few more up my sleeve which I’ll be sharing in future posts!  A link to the new release in the shop can be found by clicking below.  Full supplies including links to each product in the release can be found at the end of this post.
