Hi Everyone! It’s time for a fun collaboration today between WOW! Embossing and Catherine Pooler Designs. I just love the new WOW! powders in the CP range, Be Mine, All That Jazz and Grape Crush. They perfectly match the inks and have that awesome holographic chunkiness to them that is so BLING! Stay tuned for the next stop on the hop and details of the prizes you can win for commenting on the hop stops.

I just love this Forever 13 release don’t you? So 80s retro ! I especially love the new WOW! embossing powders that co-ordinate with three of my fave CP ink colors – Be Mine, Grape Crush, and All That Jazz. They have those big chunks of holographic material in that are just awesome and so sparkly! I went all in with the bright colors on my cards as a result.

For my first card, I did some ink smush. I smushed the Grape Crush, Be Mine and All That Jazz inks on a craft mat, spritzed with some water, then dabbed into a panel of cold press watercolor cardstock. I dried it then redunked – the smush randomly ended up as a strip across the middle of the cardstock which I really liked so I left it like that! When it was dry, I used my WOW! Mixed Media brush to add a few stripes on the background, then heat embossed with Be Mine powder. I then added a few more and embossed with WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold. I trimmed down the panel and popped it onto a card base.

I stamped the roller skates, rainbow (LOVE!), sentiment and shapes from ‘Let the Good Times Roll’ onto more watercolor cardstock. I then water colored them with the three inks using a waterbrush and added some white gel pen for shine, then die cut them out with the co-ordinating dies. I also added in some heat embossed details using my WOW! pen – on the laces, wheels, boots and rainbow I used Metallic Rich Pale Gold, on the shapes, rainbow clouds, and clouds on the boots I used Catherine Pooler Wanderlust for fun holographic sparkle.

I popped them all up on foam tape onto my panel with foam squares, and then added some Paisley Park sequins to finish.

For my second card, I went for more of a space theme! I used the other set of rollerskates for this one, stamped in Midnight ink on CP premium white cardstock, then colored in with my Copic markers in super bright colors. I also stamped the speed lines, then die cut them both out. I used the WOW! pen again to heat emboss the laces, this time using Curcao from the Aquatini CP WOW! Trio. You can see the fun shine this adds in the close up below.

I took another panel of cardstock and dadded a few swipes of Be Mine, Grape Crush and All That Jazz. I then heat embossed over the top with the co-ordinating embossing powders. You can get the same effect by just using white cardstock and doing a double layer of embossing powder. I then cut strips from each of the colors approx 0.75cm wide. I stacked them onto an A2 panel of black cardstock with liquid glue then rounded the corners.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment from the set in WOW! Embossing ink and heat embossed in Opaque Bright White. I then adhered it to a white card base. I popped the skates up onto the card with foam squares, and the speed lines, making sure those hung off the edge slightly.

To add the ‘space’ I splattered some white acrylic paint mixed with water to the background, and then adhered some Paisley Park and Boston sequins to look a little like planets! CRAZY! (Fun to make).
