Hi everyone!

I hope your week has been going well – it’s been a little hectic on my side.  Snow and sickness and lots of work.  So my card today, which was created for our current Time Out Challenge, is quite quick and easy to create, but uses a couple of fun techniques too!

I started by taking a panel of Neenah Solar White 85lb cardstock, and adhered strips of quarter inch double-sided tape at regular intervals, horizontally across the panel.  I then removed all of the backing and smoothed over a sheet of Therm-o-web Black Deco Foil (no heat needed).  The foil adheres to the sticky tape.  (Thanks to Jennifer McGuire for this recent tip of hers!)  I then die cut out the panel from the black and white piece with a Simon stitched rectangle die.  I adhered it to a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base with fun foam for dimension.

I used the Winnie and Walter Multifaceted Heart cutaways die (both pieces) and die cut them from some dark grey-brown glitter cardstock (I have provided a link to similar – the brand I used – Die Cuts With a View seems to be discontinued now).  I then adhered one on top of the other.  I like how this creates subtle tone on tone dimension.

I adhered to the striped panel with foam tape.  I die cut the ‘love’ word from the Altenew Script words set from silver glitter cardstock and overlaid it onto the heart with Ranger Mult Medium Matte liquid glue.   To finish, I added a scattering of 4mm and 6mm Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins.

Here’s the inspiration photo we are playing with for Timeout Challenges this week.  We are joined by the AMAZING Trina as our Guest Designer (LOVE her card!!) and there is $15 for the winner to spend with our kind sponsor STAMPlorations for the winner.   Be sure to take part!

  1. This is absolutely beautiful and great use of all those products! The shine and glittering must be so amazing IRL… I can’t believe you created something like this in a hurry, thinking all this through would have taken me ages! Super work! xxx

  2. Hiya Jenny! This card is so awesome. I love all that wonderful glitter. I love that foiled striped background. I have never dabbled in foiling, but you sure have mastered it. This is classy, elegant and fun. I just love it. Hope everyone in your house is well at the moment. Sending hugs.

  3. This card is fabulous – I love how you layered the two parts of the W&W heart to create that gorgeous tone on tone glittery heart – so pretty! I didn’t know that DCWV discontinued their glitter paper – I think that I have some of the same stuff and I love it so I guess I am just going to have to hoard it now 😉 The foil stripes are gorgeous too – I can just imagine how they must shine.! You are definitely the queen of foiling!
