Hi everyone,

I’m back with a card for the current Time Out Challenge where there is still a week left to play along with us.   We have a new Home Sweet Home photo challenge, and this week I was inspired by the woodgrain texture of the wall plaques in the photo.  I decided to use some Altenew Woodgrain cardstock in Bark and Powder to create my Christmas card, as well as the gorgeous Merry & Bright stamp and die by Pinkfresh Studio.   I have a video over on my Youtube channel that steps through how to do it.

To create the card, I used Bristol Smooth cardstock and stamped the large wreath image from the set in Versamark ink using my MISTI.  I heat embossed using Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder and then coloured the image using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers (no water, just direct to paper.  The Bristol makes blending a synch.  I used Geranium Red and Dark Pink for the berries, Carmine Red and Geranium for the flowers, Light Blue and Cobalt Blue for the birds).

I die cut the companion die from a panel of the Altenew Bark cardstock and then overlayed it over the watercolor piece using glue runner. I heat embossed the sentiment and the extra small branches on a scrap of the bristol smooth and die cut them/trimmed them out.  I adhered them to the front of the panel with foam squares and liquid glue.  As a finishing touch, I added Nuvo Jewel Drops in Strawberry Coulis to the berries, Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White to the smaller berries and bird’s santa hats, and Stickles Mercury Glass to the flower centres.

I also used the other piece of the diecut and heat embossed the image again in Ranger Superfine Gold embossing powder and popped it up with foam tape onto the Altenew Woodgrain card in Powder for a 2 for one! I embellished with red stickles and white and Green Nuvo drops.

Hope you enjoyed the card(s!) – be sure to pop over to the current challenge at Time Out to take part.  We are sponsored by Uniko who are offering 15 pounds to spend in their store. We are also joined this week by the fabulous Sarah as our Guest Designer this week. Her card is basically perfect!! Be sure to check it out!

Have a wonderful Christmas!
