Hi Everyone,
I created a Clean and Simple card today using stencils and Distress Oxide inks which I’ve finally broken out. The card design is a CASE of a fabulous card by Michele at I Card Everyone for the current Time Out Challenge which is running for another week.

For my card I used the same angled stenciling technique. I created a card panel using some pale pink cardstock from Michaels. I masked off part of the card with some Post-it tape and then laid down my stencil. I used the Tim Holtz Ornate Layering stencil and adhered it temporarily to the card using Krylon spray adhesive because it’s so fine and when ink blending over the top of a fine/detailed stencil, you really need to be careful it doesn’t shift, so the temporary spray adhesive is great for this. I then ink blended Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers quite heavily over the top. I then removed the stencil and went more lightly over the top (going heavier at the edges) with Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet.
I carefully removed the stencil and then added a strip of glitter washi tape (Target’s $1 bin!) at an angle along the edge of the stenciling. I die cut the whole piece with the Twice the Hugs die-namics by My Favorite Things saving all the inner pieces. I also die cut the Hugs again three more times from the same pale pink Michaels cardstock. I then took a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and applied glue runner all over it. I adhered the die cut panel over the top and then stacked the plain Hugs diecuts into the space using liquid adhesive. I then added the inner pieces from the original diecut and the main diecut over the top.
As a finishing touch I added a few drops of glitter Nuvo drops that co-ordinated with the washi tape.
And that’s it! Such a fun technique, so many possibilities. And can i just say that blending with Distress Oxides is amazing. They really are super buttery! Here’s the card we’re CASE’ing. Be sure to play along with us.

This is GORGEOUS!!!!! And I learned some new tricks here. Love the idea of the temporary adhesive – I didn’t know about it. The shifting makes me crazy, and now I have a solution. Love that gold washi!!! gotta find me some of that!!!! The colors you chose and blended so beautifully look so great with the gold accent. A truly wonderful CASE!!! xx
