Hi Everyone

I’m back again for my final post creating a card for Topflight Stamps. I’m using the same Hocus Pocus stamp set by Indigoblu that I used in my first post last week (you can find that here) but this time I broke out the cute little spider to make a spooky Halloween card (can’t believe October is right around the corner!)

This card was so much to make. I first created the panel.  This was made from Strathmore 500 watercolor cardstock which I spritzed liberally with different types of mist.  They were predominantly Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tinsel, Navy, White and Clear.  I also used Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass.  In between spritzes I let it dry a little.  I also added some Distress Ink in Black Soot over the top and water splatters.  I was going for an eerie cloud at night look. While the sprays were largely random, I tried to keep the upper corner a little clearer as this is where I would be stamping.

When the panel was dry I liberally used my embossing powder tool.  I then used my MISTI and stamped the Spider stamp from the kit in Versamark Ink.  This is a clear sticky ink that enables embossing powder to stick to it.  The embossing powder I used was WOW! Glow in the dark.  When heated and melted it appears off white, but in the dark it glows GREEN.  Very cool.  I tried to get a photo of it in the dark but didn’t have any luck unfortunately – but I highly recommend it!!

I then popped the entire panel up onto black glitter cardstock using liquid glue and fun foam.  The entire piece was adhered to a white 110lb Neenah Solar White card base.   For the sentiment I created my own using my trusty Dymo label maker.

And that’s it!  Super simple, very fun to make, and in the dark you can still see it!

I just want to take some time to thank Topflight Stamps, especially Donna and Clare, for such a wonderful opportunity to Guest Design for them.  I had such fun,  make sure you go check them out!
