Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that there is still time to play along with the current Time Out Challenge – this week we are inspired by the words “Paint the flying spirit of birds rather than its feathers.”  The talented Carol is joining us as Guest Designer and the challenge is sponsored by Happy Little Stampers  – our winner will get $15 to spend in their store.

My card this week exclusively uses the Hero Arts Birds and Blossoms stamp set.  This is a layering stamp set that you can use to put together a pretty cherry blossom and birds scene.  I thought it was quite serene, much like the words.

I kept the card really clean and simple.  The entire image was stamped directly onto Neenah Solar White 85 lb card stock. I followed the layering guide provided with the set to create the exact scene recommended.   The ink colours I used were Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe (branches/flower centres), Simon Says Stamp: Pale Blush Pink and Twirling Tutu (flowers), Lavender, Steel Blue and Violet Orchid (birds).   I used my MISTI for perfect alignment.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed two of the stamps in Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.   I didn’t add any big embellishments but I did add some white gel pen for the birds eyes and flower centres.

And that’s it! Super clean and simple (but actually quite a complex layering set!)

Hope you’re having a great week – be sure to play along with us!
