Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July if you celebrate it.  As a Brit here in the US I love the fireworks –  my husband (who’s a New Yorker) loves to poke fun at me.

Today I’ve got two shaker cards for you using the Multifaceted Cutaways Heart and Star by Winnie and Walter.  I have had these so long and they’ve been screaming at me to make a shaker. So I did!  To create the cards, the process was quite similar with a few differences.

For the heart, I used some Minc 6×6 paper from Heidi Swapp and foiled it with gold foil in my Minc machine. I then trimmed it to size slightly smaller than an A2 card.  I die cut the solid heart out and and adhered some acetate at the back.  I then die cut the faceted heart from Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock backed with Stick It.  I was then able to adhere it over the acetate at the front of the card.

I used foam tape to create a pocket at the back (double layer) and also adhered this all over the back.  I took some Champagne Sequins from the mix by Little Things by Lucy and shook them into the ‘pocket.  I then placed some patterned paper (it’s aqua with gold foil accents – by Reflections at Michaels) over the back. I adhered the entire piece to a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base.  For the sentiment I blended some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores ink onto Neenah Solar White (it matched the patterned paper perfectly) and heat embossed a sentiment by CZ Design in Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I then trimmed it down and adhered with foam squares.

For the Star card, my panel was a watercolor piece I have had sitting on my desk for ages which i created with Daniel Smith watercolors and Distress Mica to create a galaxy type look. I thought it would be perfect for the star. I die cut the faceted star from gold foil cardstock backed with Stick It and adhered in the same way.  The shaker part is some irridescent sequins from an old Simon Says Stamp cardkit. I then backed the piece with black cardstock.

The sentiment is from the same CZ Deign set and was heat embossed on black card with Ranger Super Fine gold embossing powder and popped up on foam tape.

That’s it! Hope you like them!  My 18 month old daughter liked to shake them at the same time 🙂

Jenny x
