Hi Everyone!

It’s time for another challenge at Time Out Challenge.  This week’s theme is Celebrations with an optional twist of a One Layer Card. The challenge is kindly sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays stamps and they are giving $20 store credit to the winner of this week’s challenge!  We are joined this week by the absolutely amazing TaeEun.  Her blog is truly stunning, she’s one super talented lady and I guarantee you’ll be returning time and again to check out her creations!

CAS-ual Fridays were also kind enough to supply the DT with a stamp set.  I am using simple Mon Ami stamp set for this card.  There are so many possibilities with the images in this set.  I was going to use the small flower to create a rainbow rotated circle but in the end I went for a repeat pattern ombre.   The MISTI comes in really handy for this technique, enabling you to move the cardstock an even distance every time you stamp.   I stamped the small flower over a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock repeatedly using this technique in Versafine Onyx Black ink (which is waterproof).

I  chose a selection of pinks and purple Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to colour in the images to create an ombre look. I used the markers direct to card at the base of each flower and then pulled out the color using a water brush. It’s super quick and easy to create.   I adhered the panel down to a Neenah Solar White 110lb card base using double sided tape. For the sentiment I white heat embossed a sentiment from the set onto a scrap of purple co-ordinating card stock and popped it up on foam squares (cheating a little on the one layer twist !)

As a finishing touch I added purple glitter Nuvo drops to all of the flowers – these are so shiny and smooth, I love them. I also added clear Wink of Stella to the flower petals for subtle shimmer.

That’s it – hope you liked !  Please be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog and take part.

Have a wonderful week,

Jenny x

  3. Fantastic job on the ombre effect! The shades you chose are PERFECT – they cascade beautifully. Love the Nuvo drop embellishment too, and that strip of purple with the wnite embossed sentiment.
