Hi Everyone!

Just a reminder that there is still time to play along with us at Time Out Challenges.  This week the challenge is Flowers, with the optional twist of kissing (the challenge blog gives more details on this technique, I’ve not used it here).  There is a chance to win $15 from our sponsors Happy Little Stampers too!  The Design Team have come up with some fabulous inspiration for you so I hope you join in and play.

For my card this week I broke out the Camellia build-a-flower set by Altenew.  It’s their the first B-A-F monthly release and it is a gorgeous big layered bloom, with matching dies.  I stamped the flower using my MISTI which is really helpful to line up the layers of the images. I stamped each layer using Altenew Crisp Inks in Grapevine, Coral Berry and Frosty Pink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock. I stamped the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Everygreen and then die cut them out.

For the cardbase, I used the Altenew Halftone stencil and Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in mother of pearl, also onto Neenah Solar White (100lb).  When it was dried I attached the flower with foam tape for dimension.

I used the sentiment from the set, and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black ink onto 40lb vellum.  I also heat embossed in clear as I am notorious for smearing Versafine and on vellum it can be particularly smeary!!   I trimmed it out and wrapped it around the card and adhered at the back with tape.  To finish, I added some sequins by Neat and Tangled adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium.

This was actually a really simple card to make  – the Altenew set makes it so easy!  Be sure to join in with us this week !
