Hi everyone!

Just a reminder that there is still time to join in with the current challenge at Time Out.  It is our ‘Inspired by Words’ week with a beautiful quote:

‘When it rains look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars’

We are sponsored this week by Uniko and there is 15 pounds up for grabs to spend in their store for the winner.
We are joined this week by Marilyn, who’s cards are wonderful with such cute and pretty designs, definitely go check out her blog.
For my card this week I went with rainbows and stars but I wanted to keep a soft and pretty feel to the cards, like the quote itself.  I embossed the Hero Arts Basic Grey background stamp with Wow Mint Macaroon embossing powder (such a pretty mint colour) onto Bristol Smooth cardstock.   I then used Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade to blend the colour over the top for a pastel rainbow look.
For the frame I die cut 5 circles from Fog Simon Says Stamp cardstock using the MFT Stitched Circle Line frames. I coloured the top circle with a pink Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen and adhered all of them together with liquid adhesive and then adhered to the embossed piece.

I die cut the Hero Arts Humming Bird from Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock and coloured it with matching Copic Markers and then adhered to the frame.  The sentiment is Ellen Hutson’s Brushstroke Wonderful, which I diecut from silver glitter cardstock and adhered to the frame.  I finished with a home made Dymo label (using my vintage ebay purchased Dymo label maker !)
That’s it – be sure to play along this week, we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  3. Oh my, this is FABULOUS!!!! I so love that background stamp. I love the springy colors you've used on top of the silver embossing. I have just popped the hummingbird dies into my shopping cart. You are such a bad influence. Just a wonderful design and take on the inspiration words.
