Hi Everyone!
Just a reminder that there is still time to play over with the current challenge at Time Out Challenges.

This week it is Home Sweet Home and we have a fabulous inspiration picture for getting the mojo flowing.   We are sponsored by Stamplorations who are kindly giving a $15 gift voucher to their store for the winner.   In addition, a random winner will be drawn to receive their choice of Stamplorations stencil, stamp set or die used by the Design Team this week – double fun!

I am also so excited that our Guest Designer (and winner of our recent Birthday celebrations) is Michelle.  Her cards are exquisite, go check out her blog and Instagram – absolutely stunning.

For my card this week I used the gorgeous Trendy Butterflies 2 stampset by Stamplorations, which I was lucky enough to be given by Shery. I wanted to create a one layer card using stamping with an illusion of dimension.   I also wanted to incorporate the clock into the image.
I first stamped the large clock face from Papertrey Inks’ Hands of Time set.  I stamped it in a pale ink (Fog by Simon Says Stamp) to make it seem as if it was in the background.  The numbers and hands were added separately using a slightly darker shade – Smoke.

For the butterflies, I used similar colours to those in the inspiration photo, and stamped the two smallest butterflies in Simon Says Stamp ink in Doll Pink, Magnolia and Lipstick Red.   For the main butterfly, I used a white and pink glitter gel pen to color in some elements of the image for a more 3D and sparkly look.

To finish, I embossed the sentiment from the Stamplorations set in Ranger Liquid Platinum, and added a small dot of Versamark (using the Versamark pen) to the centre of the clock face and embossed with the same powder.  I then scattered some Pretty Pink Posh sequins for added sparkle.
Here’s the image we’re using today:

It’s such a fun image to play with, I’m sure almost everyone has butterflies or pink ink in their stash.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations – they’re beautiful.

Have a wonderful week.

  2. This is stunning Jenny. I love you included the clock and you really did a great job building up the stamps so it looks like their is dimension. I will have to learn this from you. I think my cards are quite flat and don’t think about creating dimension for one layer….you have i sores me x

This is just beautiful Jenny – I love how you created the backdrop with that gorgeous PTI clock (that one has been on my wish list forever… may have to take the plunge!) – it really helps those beautiful butterflies just fly off the card – amazing look of dimension!
