Hi Everyone,
There is still time to play along with the current Time Out Challenge – this week we are inspired by the following words:
‘Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can’t break them apart’

CAS-ual Fridays are sponsoring the challenge and there is $25 to spend in their store for the winner!!
We are also joined this week by Guest Designer and my good friend Jane.    She’s my teamie over at AAA Cards and she has come up with some fabulous inspiration for you this week.  Make sure you check out her blog.
For my card this week, I used the Friend-die by CAS-ual Fridays and die cut it from heart patterned paper from an older Simon Says Stamp card kit. I also die cut it from Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock.  I adhered them together with glue runner and liquid adhesive, making sure to sandwich a piece of acetate between the two pieces.  I then trimmed off the edges of the patterned paper and die cut the whole thing using the largest Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangles die.

I then added foam tape all around the back of the Friend ‘window’ ensuring there was no gaps, and poured in some pink Prills.  I added a small piece of white card over the top to ensure they couldn’t escape.  I added more foam tape around the edge and adhered the whole piece to a Neenah Solar White 100lb card base.   I had saved the little pieces of the patterned paper die cut and added these back in with liquid glue to form the whole word.

I heat embossed the sentiment (from CAS-ual Fridays ‘Woot Woot’ set) on black card using Hero Arts white embossing powder. I cut the strip with the F from the die so that it would perfectly fit across the card, and popped all three pieces on foam tape (you can see in the photo above).  As a finishing touch I added some co-ordinating sequins in Marshmallow (Pretty Pink Posh) and pink (Neat and Tangled).
I really wanted to give this card a bold look, like I’ve come to associate with CAS-ual Fridays and I think I achieved it.  Hope you like it!  Be sure to go check out what the rest of the DT came up with for more inspiration .
Have a great week,
Jenny
Disclosure:  CAS-ual Fridays provided the die to me for this week’s challenge.  The stamp set is from my own collection.

  1. This is such a clever design, I really like how the sentiment overlaps the black strip, a really lovely tough and thought out so well. Adore the CAS feel to this even though you have used DSP, naturally we all love a shaker card, can't make them myself very well, but love to see them!

  2. You certainly achieved the bold look you were going after Jenny. This is fantastic. Love the heart PP as the base. Such a great detail in die cutting the black sentiment strip with the bottom of the "f". Love those mini prills in your shaker too. All around fabulous creation.
