Happy New Year everyone!
We have a new year and a new challenge over at Time Out and there is still another week to play along. For this challenge the theme is ‘Winter’ and the optional twist is white on white (although black and other neutrals can be used for the sentiment). Uniko are sponsoring the challenge there is 15 GBP voucher up for grabs. This week we have an awesome Guest Designer Claire. Her card is so pretty!!
For my card I wanted to finally (after a year of owning one) break out my Fuse tool. (NY Resolution – use my stuff!) I created a card base from Neenah Solar White 100lb card stock and die cut a circle in the front and back (I made sure these lined up so you can see right through the card without overlap). I then created a little pocket of white and crystal sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and Darice using my Fuse tool. For the pocket I just used a basic binder protectors like these from Target. I adhered this using Ranger Multi Medium Matte behind the front window.
I then cut two pieces of white cardstock just big enough to fit the Simon Says Stamp Multi Faceted Snowflake die. On one I put Stick-it on both sides, and on the other, just one one side. I then die cut the snow flake. I adhered one to the back of the sequin pocket. With the other I removed the front Stick-it ONLY first and dunked it into Distress Glitter (Rock Candy) . I then removed the back Stick-it and adhered it to the front of the sequin pocket, lining it up exactly with the other.
For my sentiment I stamped a basic greeting from Altenew Many Thanks set in Versamark on Vellum and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine Silver embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it by cutting a small slit in the left side and slotting through the strip, folding down the other on the right and attaching at the back with some silver washi. To finish the card you could also add an inner piece of paper to hide the pocket edges and washi but I left as is. The pic above shows my craft room light shining through the card 😀
That’s it – white on white can be fun! I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
