Hi Everyone

Just popping by to remind you that there is still time to play along with Challenge #73 over at Time Out Challenges.  This week is our Inspired By Words week and with 2017 just around the corner, we have chosen the phrase:

‘With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning’

The DT have come up with some great inspiration and we are also joined by a wonderful Guest Designer Marina, so be sure to go check out her blog.
We have some great prizes up for grabs this week, kindly sponsored by STAMPlorations, including  $20 gift voucher for the winner and two honorable mentions that will win $10 vouchers each!
For my card this week, I am using STAMPlorations stampset ‘Houses‘ – the images are all super cute but I wanted to choose the smallest for this one, as I think it gives a greater sense of open space on the card.  I was going for a calm, peaceful but uplifting card:
For my card, I stamped the house using Versafine Onyx black ink and my MISTI onto Arches cold press watercolor paper.  I then masked it off and the ground below, using Inkadinkado stamping masking paper. I then wet the background above the mask and added yellow, orange and peachy pink Daniel Smith paints to create a sunrise.  One dried, I removed the mask and added some colour to the house (and a bit of smoke with a white gel pen).
For the sentiment I used the Good Thinking: Renewal set by Power Poppy, triple stamped using my MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black.
I die cut the piece out using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, and adhered it using double sided tape to a white card base.  As a finishing touch I added Stickles along the ‘snow’ ground and on the window plinths.  I also added glossy accents to the cool windows.
We do hope you’ll join in with this challenge – 2017 is just around the corner – time to refresh 😀
