Hi Everyone!
I’m so honoured to be joining as a Guest Designer this week over at Inkspirational.   This week it is a photo challenge (inspiration photo is below) and I decided to try out a technique I’ve see done a lot but haven’t ever done it myself – glitter and glue!
I trimmed some black cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″.  I then die cut a Spellbinders Nestabilities heart from Be Creative double sided tape (it was actually an A4 sheet of the stuff) and adhered it with the sticky side up to the card.

Then the fun part!! I used a couple of pink shades of Glitter Ritz glitter and sprinkled them onto the heart – I shook off the excess and burnished/rubbed the glitter into the heart.   Wow!  It really works – the glitter is a little duller at first but then as you burnish, it sticks and shines up so much.  You then swiffer cloth the rest away and you’re left with a gorgeous glittery embellishment and no glitter rub off!

I then used Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray in Gold Lame and flicked on a few splatters using a paint brush dipped into the spray bottle.  As the finishing touch, I used a label sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio, and adhered it with foam squares for dimension.  I then adhered the whole thing to a card base made from the same black card stock.

It’s really shimmery in real life!!  Here’s the photo inspiration – go check out the cards the rest of the Design Team have created, and be sure to enter!

Have a great weekend!

Jenny

  2. What a fabulous technique – it really gives your card the wow factor! I love how the two shades of glitter meld together – the black background lets it shine out and the sentiment is perfect. Thanks for being our wonderful Guest Designer at Inkspirational!

  4. Well here's the right post! 🙂 Love your glittery heart -this is a great (and fun and messy to make!) technique, very effective look with the glittering pink combined with the black card base. The gold splatters are perfect too.
