Morning everyone!
I hope those of you in the US enjoyed the lovely Labor Day weekend (and Hurricane Hermine didn’t cause you too much bother).  Here in New York the weather turned out to be gorgeous, so the family made the most of it.  We took Ruby to her first ever Renaissance Faire and kitted her out in a cute little renaissance princess costume!
I got back to the cards too and this week I’m joining the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge.  This week it is a gorgeous photo inspiration, full of pinks and blues, and a cute quilt, so I had to dig out my We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder (not quite the quilted one, it is Waves but I thought it was a good match). I embossed it on some pale blue Papertrey Ink card stock, using a circle embossing diffuser by Tim Holtz to stop the pattern embossing in the centre.

I then used Simon Says Stamp Stitched circles in two sizes that matched the circle on the diffuser to create a stitched frame from Neenah Solar White cardstock. I adhered to the embossed panel with foam squares for dimension.  I then smushed some Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet on a craft mat and spritzed with water.  I dipped some Strathmore watercolor paper into the ink and dried it a few times.  I then stamped a couple of blooms over the watercolor panel from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden set in Versamark ink and embossed with Hero Arts White embossing powder, and fussy cut.  I also did the same with a bloom from The Ton’s Wild Peonies
I adhered the cut flowers onto the frame with adhesive and foam squares.  For the sentiment I used Altenew’s Label Love, and embossed it in Ranger Super Fine Gold embossing powder, trimmed and attached with foam squares.  As a finishing touch I scattered some sequins from a mix by Neat and Tangled. I backed it all onto a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base using foam tape.  Lots of dimension!!
That’s it, I really like how this turned out – I don’t typically go with a colored card but I think this worked out really well.

Have a great week!

Jenny

  1. Wonderful interpretation of the ATSM photo! Your watercolored flowers are really gorgeous along with the wavy line of sequins. So glad you got to join the ATSM challenge this week–please join us again soon!
