Hi Everyone,
This week’s (and the last of the year’s!) challenge #54 for AAA Cards is Silent Night, Holy Night. Create a Christmas card and / or include stars and the night into your clean and simple cards!
For my card (for which I apologise for the awful photo – bad lighting, only my camera phone!) I chose to make a shaker using the Spellbinders Star dies. I blended Distress inks in Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves over Neenah Solar White cardstock.I then die cut it using Spellbinders Star dies in two sizes and the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.   I then used Dreamweaver embossing paste and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars stencil to create the ‘night sky’.

For the shaker element I used some old clear packaging and adhered behind the star “windows” using Tombow mono multi glue. I then (painstakingly) applied small Best Creation foam squares around each star on the back side, making sure there were no gaps that sequins could escape through. I added a mixture of older sequins from Michael’s from my stash and added a mat of some silver shimmer cardstock (65lb Neenah – I found it in Staples) on the back.  It was all popped up using 3M foam tape on a SSS Soft Navy cardbase.

Finally, I cut the SSS Season’s Greetings die from Neenah Solar white and adhered with Tombow mono.

While it’s pretty bright, I think it’s still relatively CAS, although not as much for me as usual!!

I hope you’ll all join us in playing along over at the AAA Cards challenge blog.  We had nearly 200 entries in the last game so let’s try to beat that!  The team will be taking a break over Christmas, but in early 2016 we have a whole new line up coming, and PRIZES 🙂

Have a wonderful holiday and see you in the New Year!!!

Jenny x
