Hi everyone!

First my sincerest apologies for going off the grid a little for the past couple of weeks.  Baby C did finally arrive so as you can imagine, I’ve been a little busy!! More on that tomorrow 🙂

For today, I’m dashing by to share a card I made for the Power Poppy Bits and Pieces challenge.  I ADORE their stamps – so far I only have digis but I definitely definitely need to get ALL of their stamps.  I urge you to check them out – they are beautiful florals and wildlife, as well as some amazing holiday stamps.  The detail is phenomenal – I love reading the blog entries by the artist Marcella Hawley, where she shows how she came up with the design.  The Design Team are also extremely talented.  Did I mention to go check them out ??!

Onto my entry.  The challenge was to use a ‘bit’ of one of their stamps to create the design.  I decided to use the Berry It digi stamp and then die cut it using a flower die from Simon Says Stamp (Delicate Dahlia).  I wanted my card to be clean and simple, but for added interest, cut a window in the front of the card using the same die, and put my watercolored piece popped up on fun foam on the inside of the card so it peeks through.

I also added the Delicate Dahlia detailed die in glitter cardstock over the top of the piece (I think SSS may have discontinued this part of the set now unfortunately) – I though it would add to the ‘bits and pieces’ vibe, and also reminded me of a raspberry net we used to have when my family grew them in our garden.   It is detailed enough to allow the berries stamp to show through.

To finish the card I stamped a sentiment from the Neat and Tangled Origami map in Delicata gold ink directly onto the front, added some gold splatter using Heidi Swapp color shine in gold, and finished with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in sparkling clear and lime sorbet.

I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out – a little different, and very fun to make 😀  You can find the Power Poppy blog by clicking on the picture below for the challenge – it is the last day for the October challenge but I imagine there will be a new one very soon!

See you tomorrow with news on Baby C!!!

Jenny
