Hi everyone,

Do you remember my #everydayinspiredcards post where I talked about kick starting my crafting mojo by taking inspiration from the things I found around me everyday while doing the mundane, daily chores?  (If not, please see here for the post).  I rediscovered my mojo and then some – I’ve been card making crazy recently and didn’t actually get around to posting the shower gel bottle inspiration – see, IT WORKS!!! Lol.

Anyway here it is finally.  Let me show you the card first this time:

The card was created using purple cardstock (I’m not sure which, just one from an old kit I had) which was cut to 11″ x 4.25″ and scored at 5.5.” to create a top folding card.   On a piece of Papertrey Ink Harvest Gold card stock (4″ x 5.5″) I stamped the new Abstract Background Stamp from My Favorite Things in Memento Luxe ink in Sweet Plum to match the card stock.
I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp Morning Glory flower from two different purple card stock scraps and layered them slightly offset (using my Zig glue pen) on the front of the stamped background. The layering creates a sort of shadow effect.   For some sparkle, I splattered Heidi Swap color shine in Amethyst across the piece.
The sentiment from SSS Happy Every Day was stamped using Versamark ink and embossed using white Hero Arts embossing powder on  strip of SSS black card stock.  I then popped it up on foam squares across the flowers.
To finish, I added some My Minds Eye enamel dots in dark purple and white and adhered the entire piece to the purple card base with stamp runner.
I love how this turned out, it’s not something I would every have thought about doing had I not been inspired by the shower gel bottle.   Speaking of which, here it is, in case you were wondering:
Don’t forget to join in with Everyday Inspired, there’s no time limit, I just love to see what you are inspired by! Use the hashtag #Everydayinspiredcards (especially on instagram, flickr, and pinterest).  My collection for cards is growing – in the future I’ll show you what i came up with from a Dunkin Donuts poster and a tower block 🙂
Have a great weekend,
Jenny
