Morning all !

It’s been ridiculously busy at work the past couple of weeks. I’ve not been able to get into my craft room more than once, and that was to make my AAA Design Team card.  This week we’re playing with Easter colors.   To me that says pastel pinks, blues and yellows.    My in-laws are also celebrating their 43rd (!!!!) wedding anniversary this week so I decided this card was going to be an anniversary card for them (rather than an Easter card).

The stamp is an awesome one from Mama Elephant called ‘Tree Friends‘.  I’ve not yet had a chance to use it as I only recently bought it, although the stamp itself is a couple of years old (wish they’d bring out some matching die cuts!).  It has lots of cute woodland animals and woodsy elements, but I decided to go for the piece de resistance – the large tree stamp.  It’s so detailed, I thought it would be perfect for coloring with my Prisma Colors.

I stamped the tree with Stazon in black as I knew I was going to be blending with Gamsol.   I don’t know about you but i often find my Stazon black ink doesn’t get a great impression  first time.  As this was such a large stamp I decided to use my MISTI to ensure that I could re-stamp if the impression wasn’t great the first time – lucky I did – the inner part of the tree was extremely splotchy the first time!!  I stamped again and bam! perfect.  LOVE the MISTI!

The tree and blossoms were all colored with 2 shades each and then blended with Gamsol.  I also used a white gellyroll from Sakura to create centers for the tiny blue flowers, and a glitter orange gellyroll for the pink flower centers to add a very subtle sparkle.  I heat embossed the wonderful sentiment in Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder using Versamark ink. To finish it off, I used some yellow blossom sequins from Simon Says Stamp, attached with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, and popped it all up on foam tape on  Neenah 110lb card stock backed with yellow polka dot patterned paper (something from my stash).  To finish, i rounded all the corners with the 1/4″ corner chomper.
The game is open now until April 11th, there are prizes to be won, and some great inspiration from the rest of the Design Team – make sure you hop on over and enter !
Have a great day,
Jenny x
