Evening everyone!

We did try to take in a dip in our pool, with the weather being beautiful.  Unfortunately it was not a particularly pleasant experience, and lasted about five minutes before we called it quits and went inside to warm up.

I’ve been doing some research and seeing if I can find some other CAS challenge blog sites.  I’m enjoying the CAS designs.  I find them super tough as I naturally like to stick as much glitter and embellishments as possible.  But I like the CAS as I tend to be plan them out first – if you aren’t using many elements, you really have to work out where you’re going to put everything!

My first card today uses my very first Paper Smooches set.  I love this space theme, and I can’t wait to get the science set too!

I wanted to do another black and white card, and this time used my new WOW! and Zing! Embossing Powders.    I die cut a circle from the  black card front and then traced this in pencil on the white card behind to ensure I got the space dude in the right place.   I stamped and embossing him in WOW! Bay Area Blue and coloured some parts in a Memento black marker.   The stars and moon are stamped in black glitter Zing! powder.

The WOW! powder is really good – somewhat finer than the Zing! powder, which makes it easy to get more detail. The sentiment is stamped in Hero Arts white embossing powder and white maker used for faux stitiching to finish.

I wanted to also enter this card in the CAS on Sunday Challenge which was Black, White plus one, given i only used three colours here!

My second card was to try and see how embossing in clear on ColorBox pigment ink works on black paper.  As you can see, it works great!  Really impressed 🙂

The black card was dry embossed with a CuttleBug folder (Birds & Swirls) approx 4/5ths way down, and American Crafts hemp ribbon (from a multipack) added a finishing touch.  The sentiment is from the Stampendous ‘Birthday Wish’.  The bird is from Inkadinkado’s ‘Birds Galore’.

Right it’s been a late one for me today, more to come next week.  Thank you for keeping tuned and visiting!!

Cheers
Jenny
